Chkhatarashvili
is a self
taught
Georgian
photographer
living with
his family in
Tbilisi,
Georgia. Mr.
Chkhatarashvili
originally
received a
degree in
Philosophy
from Tbilisi
State
University in
1983, and
worked as the
Director of
the Literary
Division of
the Poti State
Theater from
1985 to 1990.
In 1990, Mr.
Chkhatarashvili
decided to
pursue his
ongoing
interest in
photography,
and since has
had his work
recognized and
exhibited both
in Georgia and
internationally.
He is a
current Fifty
Crows Fellow
of the Soros
Foundation for
Documentary
Photography,
based in San
Francisco,
California.
